The Zeiterion Rehabilitation Project revitalizes a historic theater in downtown New Bedford, MA, transforming the 1923 landmark into a modern, accessible, and community‑centered cultural venue. As the MEP/FP and Civil engineer, our team delivered comprehensive system upgrades and infrastructure improvements that support the building’s reconfigured front‑of‑house spaces — including new lobbies, concessions, restrooms, lounges, classrooms, and staff areas. The project restores the character of the original lobby and auditorium while introducing full ADA accessibility through a new elevator and theatre pit lift. Modernized electrical service, upgraded life‑safety systems, and a new HVAC system enhance comfort, performance, and long‑term resilience.
